Laminate Care & Maintenance

Practice Preventative Maintenance

Preventative maintenance will keep your laminate flooring looking and feeling great for years to come!

Ask family members and guests to remove their shoes before walking across your new floors. You may also consider getting doormats to trap dirt before it can be tracked across your new floor.

Sweep, dust, or vacuum the floor regularly with the hard floor attachment (no beater bar) to prevent accumulation of dirt or grit that can scratch or dull the floor finish.

For a deeper clean, use a manufacturer-approved cleaning product only.

No matter how careful you are, accidents happen, especially with kids and pets at home. If your laminate flooring needs more than just a surface clean, use a manufacturer-approved cleaning solution and follow their guidelines.

For spots such as candle wax or chewing gum, harden the spot with ice and then gently scrape with a plastic scraper, such as a credit card. Be careful not to scratch the flooring surface. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
